The historical Royal Albert Hall once again hosted the Giants Live Strongman Classic! On July 9, 2022, 12 Phenoms of strength faced off against each other in 5 grueling events which tested every facet of strength.

Celebrating 150 years of being 'the nation's village hall', The Royal Albert Hall opens its doors again for the Giants Live Strongman Classic for its third year in a row! This building is riddled with history and even hosted the word's first bodybuilding competition. The "Great Competition", as they called it, was produced by Eugen Sandow in 1901.

Black Grunge

Starting at 80kg, the athletes struggled to lift each implement overhead as quickly as possible. Each competitor had 75 seconds to lift all 5 implements overhead.

​

Weights: 80kg (176lbs), 90kg (198lbs), 100kg (220lbs), 110kg (242lbs), 120kg (264lbs).

​

Time: 75 seconds

Wedged between two collapsing pillars, these men gave it their all in a test of grip and determination to see who could outlast the pain in their forearms and keep the pillars standing.

​

Weight: 400kg (880lbs) total, 200kg (440lbs) in each hand

​

World Record: 1:32.37 held by Mark Felix

Carrying two massive logs in each hand, the athletes made their way down and back a 15-meter course as many times as possible in a time of 60 seconds. The athlete was able to drop the logs, but only if they had reached the end of the course.

​

Weight:  300kg (660lbs) total, 150kg (330lbs) in each hand

​

Time: 60 seconds

Commonly known as the most hated deadlift implement in strongman, the athletes fought their way through every rep to see who could complete the most in the allotted time.

 

Weight: 360kg (794lbs)

Time: 60 seconds

World Record: 8 reps by Martins Licis

Face to face, these athletes stood in opposition. Lifting the heavier set of stones to the tops of each platform, they fought through the pain to complete all 5 stones. Once the athlete had lifted and taken their hands off the final stone, time would stop.

​

Weights: 120kg (264lbs), 140kg (308lbs), 160kg (352lbs), 180kg (396lbs), 200kg (440lbs)

​

Time: 60 seconds
